人類の植民惑星が異星人ククトニアンに攻撃され、護衛の守備隊は全滅、13人の子供達が取り残されてしまう。彼らは異星人に囚われた家族や友人達を自分達の力だけで救出するために、人型兵器ラウンドバーニアンで異星人と戦いながら、地球軍の練習艦ジェイナス号で旅をする、というストーリー。ジュール・ヴェルヌの小説『二年間の休暇』（少年向けには『十五少年漂流記』）をモチーフにしている。この宇宙版『十五少年漂流記』のアイディアは、『機動戦士ガンダム』の企画時に考案されたものだったが、『ガンダム』はそれとは異なる方向へと進んだため、改めてこのモチーフを用いてアニメ化したのが本作であり、そのため「原案」として富野由悠季の名前がクレジットされている。 メカやアクションに加えて、等身大の少年少女が生活し成長する物語でもある本作品は好評を博し、本放送後にも総集編が2本（『カチュア...。男主于黑暗深渊浴血奋战，驱逐日寇，荣耀归乡，却目睹家园破碎，父母受辱，爱侣背叛，更甚者，她竟对双亲拳脚相加。雪上加霜，连亲子小兵也目无尊长，轻视有加。然而，正义与亲情终唤醒逆转，男主以铁血手腕揭露真相，让那些背叛与轻蔑之人尽皆失色。。The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely. The tamped-down acting and the spare, tense visual rhetoric suggest a state of moral crisis as well as the response—as much in style as in substance—that it demands.。
