(Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。马特（迈克尔·安格拉诺 Michael Angarano 饰）的母亲在他很小的时候就离开了他，父亲大卫（凯文·基尔纳 Kevin Kilner 饰）经营着一家玩具公司，他将所有的精力都投入到了工作中去，免不了忽略了马特的感受。 马特的姐姐凯丽（凡妮莎·奇玛 Vanessa Zima 饰）拥有超高的智商，正在研究一种人工智能芯片，虽然芯片的功能尚未开发完全，但是马特还是成立了公司，并且用芯片套到了一大笔的资金。马特用这笔资金买下了爸爸的玩具公司，他的目的十分的单纯，只是希望爸爸能够有多一点的时间能够陪伴自己。一直想要收购玩具公司的银行老板终于找到了可以作威作福的机会，他勒令大卫在一周内偿还巨额欠款，不然他的公司就要为他所有。。
