Laura loses her family in a tragic fire while living in Spain. Just as she prepares to return home to the States, a member of the American embassy provides proof that it wasn't an accident. Laura decides to stay and uncover the truth about her family's death, a decision which soon places her own life in jeopardy as she becomes embroiled in murder, stolen diamonds, cover- up...。1950年代，福建闽江。白花洲互助组长李银花和共青团员杨小龙自幼青梅竹马，有着共同的志向。小龙的父亲杨才发是单干户，在走互助合作的道路上父子俩有分歧。银花组里也有几个自私自利的人，他们因评工分不合理起过争执，后来银花主持公道，才化解了矛盾。小龙想借父亲生日让银花帮他做爸爸的工作，结果串门的安安一通瞎说反而让杨才发更加生气。桔树闹起虫灾，杨才发想用独家“秘方”灭虫，结果失败。关健时刻，银花依靠上级党组织，从区上运来了杀虫剂和喷雾器，帮桔农们度过了难关……。
