故事发生在80年代中期到1997年香港回归。李修龙和张天伟是大学同学，逐渐成长为香港长凯建筑公司正、副经理。随着事业的发展，两人的观点发生分歧，导致事业有成有败。香港房地产巨子冯天源之女冯家慧在李、张两人创业时就帮助过他们，在日后自己的经营中，面对破产和风雨的考验，又得到李修龙的有力帮助……几经起伏，在香港新机场大楼的工程中，李修龙、冯家慧和太平洋公司的亨利因对社会的杰出贡献，获得了特区政府颁发的“紫荆勋章”……。Somewhere in Myanmar is a forest rich in amber and controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). Most of its inhabitants work in a mine, digging the earth night and days in the hope of finding the precious ore that will get them out of poverty. But on top of the excruciating hardship of the work, they also have to fear an attack from the army.。
