太空探测器发出的怪声导致地球风暴，并面临自毁的威胁。寇克船长和他们的船员再度担负起拯救人类的使命。他们发现怪声其实是座头鲸的呼唤，唯一的选择就是回到20世纪去带回一只座头鲸来对探测器作出回应。。影片讲述了师徒四人在西行的路上，白骨精为夺唐僧而巧设圈套，被孙悟空识破，屡次受挫。唐僧却误会孙悟空滥杀无辜，将其逐出师门。白骨精趁虚而入，掳走唐僧。悟空闻讯前往营救，彻底击溃白骨精。师徒冰释前嫌，重新上路。。A group of aliens has come to Earth to learn about its population, customs, etc. To avoid detection, they have taken on human form which gives them human emotions, physical needs etc. WITHOUT the understanding of what they mean or the inhibitions normally present in humans.
